Art in all its forms plays a fundamental role in encouraging people to recognise the intrinsic value of wilderness, and to want to protect nature in its own right. Art has played an integral part in changing the hearts and minds of people, from the Franklin River to the Galilee Basin, and indeed to takayna / Tarkine where hundreds of artists return yearly to our Tarkine in Motion field trip.
It is for this reason that we present our very first virtual arts festival, Artivism + takayna.
Spread across three days, Artivism + takayna will bring together international, national and local artists for a broad range of workshops, panel discussions, artist talks and film screenings.
This festival will provide an opportunity for us to reflect on what makes art and activism so successful together; to learn skills and techniques for capturing nature from a range of acclaimed artists; to hear from artists and creatives about their experiences in defending planet Earth; and an opportunity to discuss the role and future of art and our campaign to save takayna/Tarkine.
This event will be held entirely on Zoom. Tickets will go on sale soon, and a full line-up will be released in the next couple of weeks.
RSVP to register your early bird interest via the Bob Brown Foundation website.
