The takayna Artivism: Virtual Festival

Art in all its forms plays a fundamental role in encouraging people to recognise the intrinsic value of wilderness, and to want to protect nature in its own right. Art has played an integral part in changing the hearts and minds of people, from the Franklin River to the Galilee Basin, and indeed to takayna / Tarkine where hundreds of artists return yearly to our Tarkine in Motion field trip. Spread across three days, Artivism + takayna will bring together international, national and local artists for a broad range of workshops, panel discussions, artist talks and film screenings.

The Tarkine, spanning 450 000 ha of diverse landscape, offers aesthetic qualities that encourage contemplation, reflection and refreshment of the soul. The art in this exhibition is the result of the creative minds working to protect this area and offers an expression of takayna / Tarkine's values which, though often framed in scientific terms, also reflects emotional responses to this wild landscape.
